ALAID

We are the Adult Literacy And Initiative For Development (ALAID) here in Uganda. It is our aim to provide vocational skills, health care and health education, adult literacy and computer training primarily for poor and under-educated youth and women. At the same time, we attempt to use our resources to combat poverty, poor health care, and lack of adequate food among all Ugandans. It is our goal to train and encourage our fellow citizens toward increased literacy, greater awareness of social and health issues, improved nutrition, and greater living standards over all.

Our staff is comprised primarily of local volunteers who are living in poverty themselves, but who desire to see improvements in the lives of their fellow Ugandans. Browse our website to learn more about the heart and soul of our grass-roots organization, ALAID Uganda!
